The University of North Carolina at Asheville welcomes participants from colleges and universities to its lovely campus, in the cool and beautiful mountains of North Carolina, for an Asheville Institute 2005: "Teaching Islam in the Undergraduate Curriculum." This two and a half day conference will feature papers and panels proposed by the participants, as well as several distinguished plenary speakers. The schedule will include luga'at--small-group, guided conversations on specific topics. Textbooks, supplementary readings, and other materials will be on display.

We encourage participants' friends and families to join them, at the conclusion of the conference, for a vacation in Asheville--one of America's most exciting and relaxing small cities!

Suggested Topics for Papers Include:

By March 20, 2005, please complete and send Proposal Submission/Registration Form. You will be notified of acceptance no later than April 10, 2005.

Registration fee of $425 includes 3 nights(W, TH, F) single-room (shared suite) accommodation in a new air-conditioned residence hall; all meals (Thursday breakfast through Saturday luncheon), breaks, receptions and entertainment; plenaries, and luga'at with consultants.
