Green Games, Fall 2007.
The results for Green Games for Fall 2007 are now posted.
Congratulations, Governor's Village!
What is it?
It's fun. It's good for the earth. It's a chocolate fountain party.
In a nutshell, Green Games is an attempt to encourage residential students of UNCA to conserve electricity and water in their dorms. For one week, ASHE (Active Students for a Healthy Environment, a student organization dedicated to environmental action and awareness) is challenging everyone who lives on campus to live more "greenly".
A lot of it is simple stuff. Turn off the light in your common room or bathroom when you're not there using it. Don't leave your window open and make the air conditioner work harder. We've got a whole list of such tips on the site for you to peruse.
Like already mentioned, the winning dorm building gets a chocolate fondue party, where a drawing will also be held for more prizes donated from local businesses. We've got ways to measure who wins, so make it count. Results will be posted on this website. Your dorm will win a plaque (eventually. We're still working on this...) You'll feel warm and fuzzy.
How does it work?
