The Environmental Quality Institute conducts research on environmental issues through the University of North Carolina at Asheville.  We serve citizen groups, governmental agencies and the private sector by providing information on water quality and other environmental concerns.  Under the direct supervision of professional scientists and science faculty, UNCA undergraduate science students receive technical training and hands-on experience that proves invaluable in their careers as professionals in various scientific fields.  The objective of the EQI is to conduct technically rigorous and unbiased research to help communities, government agencies and the private sector gain accurate technical understanding of complex environmental issues.
