Environmental Quality Institute Research Assistantships

The Environmental Quality Institute (EQI) will provide 3-5 UNCA students with research assistantships.  Assistantships are merit-based.  The primary criterion will be potential for completion of a successful undergraduate research project with EQI.  A strong background in Chemistry and/or Statistics is preferred.  Awards will be approximately $1,500 per semester.  Assistantships may be renewed for up to four semesters.  Student research assistants are expected to contribute 10 hours time per week towards research at EQI during the UNCA Fall and Spring semesters and to complete the requirements for designation as an Undergraduate Research Scholar at UNCA.  Summer research opportunities with the EQI are also available.  Students are also expected to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

Eligibility

Students must be currently enrolled at UNCA and have at least 30 hours towards graduation completed at the time of application.  Students majoring in Environmental Studies, Chemistry or the Statistics Concentration in Mathematics are preferred but all majors are eligible.
