In support of a NEMAC research grant sponsored by the Office of the President, a 13-node (26 processor) Linux cluster was purchased and installed on the UNCA campus to allow the generation of computer weather forecasts for western North Carolina in real time (http://wrf.atms.unca.edu/) and for research purposes.
A Hewlett-Packard poster printer was purchased by NEMAC and is available to the UNCA community for producing posters to display at conferences and special events.

- Lectures on “Vedic Differential Geometry”, “Digital Sculpture and Rapid Prototyping” and “ Tactile Mathematics and Creating Tactile Captions in 3-D CAD/CAM
- Stewart is available to give these lectures and share his experiences working in Disney’s animation studios

- Taught 1-day class on GIS applications for informal education
- Constructed GIS lab on Visualization of Environmental Data using 3D Elevation Modeler
- Constructed GIS lab on integrating GIS information to make environmentally sound decisions
- Co-Created an extended lab/lecture for CSCI 373 Science Visualization which resulted in the students creating the modules for the Haze Forecast Kiosk (see the results at www.hazecast.org)
- Prepared appropriate data sets for the Advanced GIS Class
- Ran a Saturday Workshop-Fieldtrip to the Outdoor Classroom run by the Colburn Museum in Swannanoa
