This
research is designed to identify and validate the significance of performing
project retrospectives within organizations.Retrospectives are structured rituals conducted at important project
milestones and at the end of a project.
They are designed to help organizations (such as NEMAC) learn, in a safe
and productive environment, from their experiences in a project. This learning, when captured through the
retrospective process, can be used to improve performance in future efforts throughout
the organization. Since the actual
benefits of holding retrospectives are dependent on the maturity of an
organization, the research will also explore the relationship between
organizational maturity and the potential for specific benefits to the
organization, its processes and its workforce. The goal is to provide businesses and retrospective leaders with data
identifying the significance of the retrospective technique, as it applies to
an organization’s maturity.
